For breathtaking photos of mouth-watering food, the go-to place is, undeniably, Instagram. There, we ooh and ahh over dishes expressing everything from artful simplicity to no-holds-barred indulgence. To get you snapping and sharing, we rounded up some of our favorite Chicagoland bites.

This storied winner of numerous awards and international acclaim receives high praise for its creative Italian cuisine. Come to this marbled bastion of fine dining for their memorably satisfying Agnello.

Instagrammable Dish: This stand-out dish, which highlights the best of Sardinia, brings together roast lamb, pesto made of favas and pecorino, charred and pickled sweet red onions grown in Tropea, additional fresh fava beans, morel mushrooms, and a garnish of leaves from the fava plant.

Bar Siena’s blended bar and outdoor cafe, BomboBar, offers lovers of everything sweet a chance to savor seasonal creations. The sidewalk cafe is famed for hole-less Italian donuts (aka bombolini) in various mouthwatering flavors from Salted Caramel to Nutella Cream. BomboBar’s claim to Instagram fame may be the loaded Hotter Chocolate—topped with whipped cream, biscotti, and a plump bombolini—but their newest creation, the Hot Off The Press Bombo Gelato Sandwich is soon to be an insta-favorite.

Sable Kitchen & Bar {505 North State Street; 312.755.9704}

Inside the Kimpton Hotel Palomar, the exceptional Sable Kitchen & Bar serves contemporary American fare, like their Fried Chicken, lovingly prepared by Chef Shane Graybeal. Here, chicken thighs are brined in sweet tea, buttermilk battered, and pan-fried until super crispy.

Instagrammable Dish: Fried Chicken drizzled with homemade spiced honey and served with homemade hot cherry bomb pepper sauce. On the side, Tennessee “Caviar,” a traditional bean salad seasoned with diced tomatoes, scallions, and mustard greens. Edible flowers finish the dish.

In the heart of Chicago’s Loop, Cochon Volant Brasserie blends traditional French influences and execution with American bistro staples, offering weekday breakfast, lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch. A full-service bakery is also attached to the hotel, serving pastries and coffee to-go. Chef Matt Ayala’s famed Burger Royale has been Instagrammed by countless Chicago natives and Instagram stars like @ChicagoFoodAuthority, as well as visitors from across the country like @BrunchBoys.

Instagrammable Dish: The Burger Royale is made with prime dry aged beef, thick cut bacon, confit onion, American cheese, Dijonnaise and house pickles. Cochon Volant pro tip: The Burger Royale is also available on the breakfast and brunch menu, as the “Breakfast Royale,” swapping out buns for English muffins.

West Town Bakery is a sweets-lover’s dream, with a slew of baked goods on offer that cover all the bases. Whether you’re looking for gluten-free, vegan, nut-free, soy-free, or dairy-free options, they have you covered. Chris Teixeira, the bakery’s Executive Pastry Chef has hit the mark with Cereal Bowl Croissants, combining nostalgia and pure indulgence into a flaky, buttery, crescent roll. And of course, these one-of-a-kind brightly colored treats are perfect for sharing on Instagram!

Instagrammable Dish: Each Cereal Bowl Croissant is filled with a sweet surprise— cereal-infused whipped cream that melts in your mouth, as if you’re drinking cereal milk! In Fruity Pebbles, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, and Cocoa Puffs flavors, you’re sure to be transported to childhood mornings of slurping every last bite of cereal.

Sugar Factory, an American brasserie in River North, is the perfect place to indulge your passion for dessert. Their aptly named King Kong Sundae features 24 (yes, 24) scoops of ice cream with loaded toppings.

Instagrammable Dish: King Kong Sundae topped with fudge, caramel, and strawberry sauce, sliced bananas, toasted marshmallows, Reese’s pieces, chocolate chip cookies, crushed waffle cones, gummi bears, chocolate shavings, toasted walnuts, and whipped cream garnished with ice cream cones, giant lollipops, cherries, and sparklers.

Rockit Bar & Grill has always been known as one of the Windy City’s best good-time eateries, whether you’re grabbing a happy hour drink and some snacks at the sprawling bar, or toasting with Bloodies at brunch. Chef Mike Sheerin has created a menu of approachable comfort food with a twist, not the least of which is the totally ‘grammable Cinema Sundae, inspired by everyone’s favorite classic cinema snacks, and designed to take guests back to their favorite movie memories.

Instagrammable Dish: The Cinema Sundae comes with vanilla ice cream served in a popcorn box and is topped with housemade Twizzler whipped cream, chocolate and caramel sauces, Raisinettes, Butterfingers, Peanut M&M’s, peanut butter cups, and crumbled Oreos.

The Goddess and Grocer, Chicago’s go-to for casual eats, features breakfast sandwiches, healthful salads, a soup of the day, and hearty sandwiches and wraps. It’s just the place to enjoy a made to order lunch before grabbing something prepared for dinner (plus the beer and wine to go with), but at Goddess the desserts are the real treasure. Their famous rainbow cake is both eye-catching and delicious—the unicorn of cakes, if you will—and pays homage to Chicago’s LGBT community.

Instagrammable Dish: The Goddess Rainbow Cake is comprised of six colorful rainbow layers of cake separated by vanilla bean buttercream filling and icing topped with rainbow sprinkles.
