No matter the time or day of the week, this family-run restaurant keeps bringing people in with their welcoming breakfast and lunch menu items. They have daily changing specials like unique French Toast flavors, but we are especially loving their new La Columbe Hash.

La Josie {740 West Randolph Street, Chicago; 312.929.2900}
Put some spice in 2018! La Josie is a fun and exciting Mexican eatery featuring delicious food, plus three bars for post-dinner drinks. Their Mariscada (a Spanish octopus) crafted with with grilled calamari, tiger shrimp, and habanero aïoli slaw is a must-try this month.

The Press Room {1134 West Washington Boulevard, Chicago; 331.240.1914}
Roasted Lamb is ladled with a Moroccan glaze and includes smoked cauliflower purée topped with roasted, pickled cauliflower. Now doesn’t that sound nice? The basement wine bar basement wine bar combines a vintage vibe and New American cooking, making it a beautiful and delicious spot for a winter date night. It’s the perfect example of everything that the West Loop has come to be known for in the Chicago food world.

This is a clever choice indeed! Introducing new and exciting veggie-forward fare, try The Sweet Potato with sesame, frisee, blood orange, walnut, and miso butter. Another favorite is the Broccoli Gratin with butternut squash, tofu, and ritz. The butternut squash and tofu act as the “cheese” which makes this a fun vegan option. Pair either of them with the Carrot Margarita for a bit of spice!

NoMi Kitchen {Park Hyatt, 800 North Michigan Avenue, Chicago; 312.239.4030}
With beautiful views of the hustling and bustling city below, NoMi Kitchen is a wonderful spot to treat yourself and your loved ones. Their Lobster Gnocchi is rich and wonderful for winter. It features housemade gnocchi, lobster, tarragon butter, and bright vegetables including chard and parsnip. Finish your meal with Paris Breast with black pepper cajeta, praline cream, and pralinettes from Jean Banchet-nominated Chef Greg Mosko.

Sable Kitchen & Bar {505 North State Street, Suite 101, Chicago; 312.755.9704}
Located within the Hotel Palomar, Sable Kitchen & Bar consistently turns out amazing meals focusing on local sourcing and the best ingredients. Their winter Salmon is no exception. This dish is special, primarily, for the smoked shallot butter that helps give this dish it’s smoky and spicy flavor. The perfectly seared salmon comes with seasonal vegetables and fine herbs making it a perfect light winter dish. They also have other amazing additions including, Chorizo Mussels, Butternut Squash Agnolotti, and Deviled Eggs Carbonara.

River Roast {315 North LaSalle Drive, Chicago; 312.822.0100}
This riverside hot spot is the perfect spot to get cozy and watch the winter pass by in warmth and deliciousness. They have plenty of amazing proteins, many of them carved tableside, but it’s an appetizer that we have our eye on right now. Their burrata with butternut squash, pomegranate, and crispy sage is the perfect way to start your meal!
