With special Passover menus featured this week, and holidays like Cinco de Mayo and the James Beard Awards coming up on the calendar, there are lots of good eats to be had in Chicago. Wear your stretchy pants and dive fork-deep into the last week of April!

Maki Monday at Sunda TONIGHT
Kick off the week with a once-a-month event at Sunda {110 West Illinois Street; 312.644.0500} in River North. The last Monday of every month is Maki Monday, where guests are invited to learn to roll sushi with Sunda’s award-winning sushi chefs! Join their team for a night of sake tasting (three different kinds) and maki rolling. Tickets are $45 per person and include Saki Tasting from 6-6:30pm and maki rolling from 6:30-7:30pm. Passover Menu at Goddess and Grocer
Passover began this past weekend, and if you still haven’t set your family meal for this week, Goddess and Grocer {1649 North Damen Avenue; 773.342.3200} has you covered with an expansive menu that can be ordered ahead and picked up in store ready to cook (or delivered for an extra charge). The menu includes classic holiday dishes like Chicken and Matzo Ball Soup and Traditional Gefilte Fish, as well as main dishes including Whole Roasted Chicken and Baked White Fish. But save room for dessert! Lemon Tart, Seasonal Macarons, and Chocolate Ganache Cheesecake are coming your way.

James Beard Eats Week at Toni Patisserie and Café
The French patisserie {65 East Washington Street; 312.726.2020} and café is offering a Blood Orange Meringue Tart inspired by James Beard until May 2 for only $5.50. Chef Toni Marie Cox pays homage to Mr. Beard with her classic American-style Blood Orange Meringue Tart, utilizing the seasonal and colorfully pungent fruit and a pâte sucrée crust that tastes like it came fresh from the master’s kitchen. Grab it in addition to one of their delicious lunch options for a fresh end to your weekday meals!

Passover Meal at Bistronomic
If you’re dining out for Passover, diversify your meal and join Bistronmic {840 North Wabash Avenue; 312.944.8400} for a flavorful three-course prix-fixe dinner for $39 that includes the Warm Asparagus Salad with grapefruit segments, Capriole Farm goat cheese, and arugula with a honey-lemon vinaigrette in honor of the holiday. The Poached Spiced Pear for dessert is also not to be missed.

Read It & Eat at Chez Moi on April 28
In honor of the upcoming James Beard Awards, Chez Moi {2142 North Halsted; 773.871.2100} and Read It & Eat are inviting you to celebrate good food and drink! Guests begin with class at Read It & Eat including a demonstration where guests will learn how to prepare two appetizers featuring a Cream of Asparagus Martini with a Caviar Ice Cube and Crunchy Shrimp with Basil and Chlorophyll Mayo. Then the class will head to Chez Moi for the second part of the evening, where they will be treated to an entrée featuring Julia Child’s famous Duck au Pêche and a decadent dessert selection from Chez Moi’s pastry chef.
