Eating well doesn’t always mean eating “good.” Luckily though, this April, you can do both at restaurants across Chicago. In partnership with One Hope United, more than 40 local Chicago restaurants are offering special menu items for diners to sip, feast on, or imbibe. When you purchase a “Go Blue!” select menu item this month, the restaurants will donate a portion of the proceeds to One Hope United’s programs (GOBLUE4OHU) to prevent child abuse. Some of our must-try items that you should dig into over these last few weeks are…

Portsmith {660 North State Street, Chicago; 312.202.6050}

Their Coconut Tapioca Custard with Pineapple and Mango Compote (plus Passionfruit Sorbet!) is beautiful and delicious! Portsmith is a great new date night spot, where presentation is prized just as much as unique taste. Come early for a drink at the dana hotel’s upstairs bar Leviathan and finish your night at their rooftop lounge, Apogee! All the spots are GOBLUE4OHU partners.

Steadfast {Kimpton Gray Hotel; 120 West Monroe Street, Chicago; 312.801.8899}

Start your meal at this hotel hotspot with their House Baked Artisan Breads, which have a daily changing selection, accompanied by house butters, oils, and pickled vegetables. Make sure to save room during your carbo-loading though, because the “Kind-Of-Fancy Cheeseburger” is coming next. It is topped with brisket, pimiento cheese, and Steadfast Signature Burger Sauce. Yum, indeed!

Tanta {118 West Grand Avenue, Chicago; 312.222.9700}

Head south of the border, to put some spice and color into your April! Tanta’s signature cocktail, La Guapa, features No 3 Gin, lavender, rhubarb, lemon, and sparkling rosé. Bring your pals for happy hour to sip and do good.

Cescas Margarita Bar & Grill {5403 North Clark Street, Chicago; 773.769.9220}

With Cubs and Sox season in full swing, bar food is becoming more important than ever. Gather your group and tackle the Cescas Margarita Bar & Grill Nachos, made with crispy tortilla chips smothered in refried beans, stringy Chihuahua cheese, jalapeños, and sour cream, plus a side of spicy guacamole. Or opt for the Mole Nachos, smothered with homemade mole sauce, Chihuahua cheese, topped with sour cream and cilantro.

Ciao! Cafe & Wine Lounge {939 West Madison Street, Chicago; 312.850.2426}

This cozy, intimate neighborhood spot in the West Loop is participating in OHU’s GoBlue restaurant collective for the second year in a row! As they did last year, they are offering daily rotating red or white wine flights (three wines per flight) for only $15 and select bottles of wine for $50 a bottle, with all proceeds benefitting GoBlue campaign. Their wine selections will focus mainly on European, South American, and Southern Hemisphere wines, and all the flights pair nicely with their wine-friendly cuisine, which consists of small plates, flatbreads, and pastas.

Beatrix {various locations}

As part of their new spring menu, Beatrix has two cocktails you’ll want to drink all season long—but should definitely try in April! Their non-alcoholic Blue Boost has pure blueberry juice, white grape, and basil for a clean start to your day. For an after work sip, order the Blueberry Vodka Collins with Tito’s vodka, fresh lemon, and blueberry juices.
