Dine out and do good. It’s a pretty sweet combination! And it’s one you can take advantage of right now! Local nonprofit One Hope United is offering delicious specials and menu items across the city for its fourth annual Go Blue 4 OHU Restaurant Collective. Some of the hottest city and suburban restaurants are participating in One Hope United’s event all April long, giving you the opportunity to try featured Go Blue food and beverage specials with a percentage of sales being donated to One Hope United.

The 124-year-old Chicago nonprofit in human services organization has been supporting local families for more than a century, and partnering with Chicago restaurants has helped them to spread their influence and impact.

“One Hope United is thrilled to welcome a growing number of restaurants that have joined Go Blue 4 OHU and will be encouraging guests to support the programs that help prevent child abuse in our communities,” says the organization’s new president and CEO, Charles Montorio-Archer. “These restaurant owners are pillars in our communities, giving back in so many generous ways. They understand that everyone plays a role in providing families and children a life without limits.”

Food-lovers should rejoice about this opportunity, aside from delicious food and a great cause, you can also win awesome prizes. This year, GoBlue4OHU has added a fun element of competition for foodies who love to post and share photos of their meal. Everyone will have the chance to win fabulous prizes, including gift certificates from participating establishments by tagging #GoBlue4OHU in their posts.

Some of our favorite specials for the month are:

Tanta {118 West Grand Avenue, Chicago; 312.222.9700} has a Quinoa Chaufa of wok-fried organic quinoa, bell peppers, mushroom, bean sprouts, soy sauce, sesame oil, and scallions. It’s packed with flavor, and $1 from each item ordered goes back to One Hope United.

Cupitol {various locations} is always one of our favorite spots, and they have both a Freddo Cappuccino and a Freddo Espresso for their partnership with One Hope United this month. If you’re not a coffee expert, a Freddo Cappuccino is a double espresso chilled and topped with cold milk crema and cinnamon. The Freddo Espresso, a double espresso chilled and topped over ice. Fifty percent of the profits from both these coffee drinks will go toward the charity.
