Chicago Chop House

Tax day has come and gone, and we’ve all survived! Hooray! If you’re one of the lucky ones, you didn’t just survive…you maybe even made a little money in the form of a tax refund. If you did, there are a few ways you can spend it to treat yourself, but none of them will be more delicious than these Chicago eats. Here are some truly indulgent cocktails and bites across the city. They’re the perfect way to spend your refund…

The Tableside Cocktail at Swift & Sons {1000 West Fulton Market, Chicago; 312.733.9420} For those who truly know and love their liquor…they know it is something that should be savored and enjoyed. The table-side cocktails at Swift & Sons are perfect for just that. They are certainly more pricey than your usual bar drink, but they’re worth it! A selection of five high-end cocktails include the Vesper Moderne, which can be served with Tanqueray Old Tom Limited Edition gin, Ketel One vodka, or Cocchi Americano. There is also The Henley, Campfire Tales, and more.

RPM Steak

The Millionaire’s Potato from RPM Steak {66 West Kinzie Street, Chicago; 312.284.4990} Any steakhouse in the city can be a fun treat, but don’t stop at the steak itself for your indulgence! RPM’s “Millionaire’s Potato” is a giant (and we mean GIANT) double baked potato, topped with luscious fontina cheese and decadent shaved black truffles. Some people share it, but we think you can handle it all by yourself! You deserve it.

$100 Manhattan Royale from Z Bar at the Peninsula Chicago {108 East Superior Street, Chicago; 312.573.6888} This is another cocktail to be reckoned with at one of the city’s coolest bars! This Manhattan Royale is made with 18-year-old Elijah Craig bourbon and black truffle bitters, plus an ice cube that glitters with actual 24-karat gold. Your Instagram game is about to get hot!

Tasting Menu at Omakase Yume {651 West Washington Boulevard, #101, Chicago; 312.265.1610} If you’re going to splurge, why not splurge on a 17-course tasting menu that is catered directly to your tastes? Omakase Yume is truly intimate, with less than 20 seats, making it perfect for a date night splurge. And it will be worth it! Every bite that chef SangTae Park creates is delicious, unique, and a treat not to be missed.

Millionaire Burger at Chicago Chop House {60 West Ontario Street, Chicago; 312.787.7100} Served on the iconic Chicago location’s lunch menu, this burger is one for the ages. Made with Wagyu Reserve beef, and topped with foie gras, then onion marmalade, Boston lettuce, and a juicy beefsteak tomato, you’re going to need an afternoon nap after digging into this beauteous burger.

Tasting Experience at Acadia {1639 South Wabash Avenue, Chicago; 312.360.9500} Another tasting menu to be reckoned with, especially for Chicago seafood-lovers, is the 10-course tasting experience, and truly what an experience it is. The menu changes (at minimum) monthly and showcases a range of flavors with stunning plating, all from chef Ryan McCaskey.

Bistecca alla Fiorentina from Spiaggia {980 North Michigan Avenue 2nd Floor, Suite 1, Chicago; 312.280.2750} From Chicago legend Tony Mantuano comes the ultimate bite of steak in the city. A dry-aged porterhouse, topped with truffle hollandaise, and served with a mouth-watering combination of potato and spring onion. You’ll want to dig in, but be sure to savor every bite.
