May certainly is a delicious month! National BBQ Month AND National Burger Month, plus National BBQ Day is tomorrow (May 16). If that’s not a reason to dig into some amazing burgers and other amazing barbecue classics…we don’t know what is! Not that we really needed an excuse anyway. Let’s dig in…

The Smoke Daddy {various locations}: It all started in 1994 with a hole-in-the-wall restaurant on a deserted street. Now, in April of this year, Smoke Daddy BBQ celebrated 25 years of business on that same street. They’ve also expanded to a new location in Wrigleyville where they’re still serving up the same delicious barbecue they always have.

Jake Melnick’s {41 East Superior Street, Chicago; 312.266.0400}: Jake Melnick’s is celebrating May’s Burger Month with dedication and style. They have burger specials ONLY available in May that include The Que Burger (bacon-wrapped burger patty topped with cheddar, pulled pork, crispy onions, and barbecue) plus The Smoke & Fire Burger topped with 16-hour smoked brisket, smoked three onion relish, smoked Gouda cheese, and XXX Cole Slaw. You’ll love every single bite.

BomboBar {1529 North Wells Street, Chicago; 312.549.8433}: Bar Siena’s dessert window has expanded their menu and their footprint! Aside from the West Loop walk-up window, BomboBar has now taken Old Town by storm with a full restaurant that includes their much-loved Instagramable desserts, pizza, and one heck of a burger. Their BomboBurger comes with pickles, red onions, cheese, and Dijonnaise on a sesame bun.

House of Blues Chicago {329 North Dearborn Street, Chicago; 312.923.2000}: You can celebrate both barbecue (with the BBQ Brisket Nachos) AND burgers (with the HOB Burger or the Impossible Cheeseburger) all while you listen to awesome live music. It’s the best of all worlds!

The restaurant and patio are the perfect place for a barbecue brunch or lingering summer afternoon sharing amazing proteins.

Beatrix {various locations}: Why shouldn’t vegetarians get in on the fun, too? Their Mushroom & Quinoa Burger is made with a combination of ancient grains and savory mushroom that will fill you up even without meat!
