Because who doesn’t love a meal that’s centered around cheese?

Ahh, burrata. Burrata cheese takes all the amazing goodness that is mozzarella cheese, then elevates it one step further. It’s mozzarella that’s been formed into a pouch and then filled with soft, stringy curd and cream. For cheese-lovers, that basically means it’s heaven. It’s the star of any dish, and the spotlight on the menus of these Chicago spots…

  1. Prosecco {710 North Wells Street, Chicago; 312.951.9500}: You have to love a menu that starts off strong, and Prosecco’s starts with an antipasta of Burrata with spring peas and basil pesto for a fresh and beautiful start to your meal.
  2. Fig & Olive {104 East Oak Street, Chicago; 312.445.0060}: Let’s talk crostini. Fig & Olive has a whole section dedicated to the crunchy bread appetizer, with their Burrata Crostini taking center stage. It’s the perfect classic Italian bite.
  3. Macello Cucina di Puglia {1235 West Lake Street, Chicago; 312.850.9870}: Caprese salad is always delicious, but adding Burrata really kicks it up a notch. Macello’s knows this, and has made the absolute most of this starter salad.
  4. Osteria via Stato {620 North State Street, Chicago; 312.642.8450}: Come for the pizza (of course!) but stay for the unadulterated Burrata goodness. Here, they know that something that special doesn’t need much to be great, so they just top it with olive oil and cracked pepper.
  5. Riccardo Osteria {1023 West Lake Street, Chicago; 312.291.8620}: If you like Burrata on its own, then you’re going to love creamy Burrata soaked in wine and herbs, and served with culatello Prosciutto. Pair it with a glass of wine for the perfect meal.
  6. Siena Tavern {51 West Kinzie Street, Chicago; 312.595.1322}: Every date night should include Burrata (let’s be honest), and at Siena Tavern that dream can come true! Their Burrata is served with tomato jam, sea salt, and basil oil for a huge pack of flavor.
  7. Cafe Spiaggia {980 North Michigan Avenue #2, Chicago; 312.280.2750}: For an elevated and unique twist on the famous cheese, Cafe Spiaggia serves Burrata with asparagus, snap peas, chives, fennel pollen, and balsamico. It’s delicious and totally Instagram-able!
  8. The Florentine {151 West Adams Street, Chicago; 312.660.8866}: Burrata is center stage at brunch (with ciabatta, lemon curd, and blueberry), happy hour (with cherry tomatoes, basil, and ciabatta) and dinner (their Burrata di Campana is to die for) at this Loop spot.
