From Champagne happy hours to morning macarons, these Chicago spots are giving us a taste of Paris for the summer

Audrey Hepburn proclaimed that “Paris is always a good idea” in the 1954 film, Sabrina. But even as the decades have gone by, that statement has stayed true and strong. Paris is always a good idea…especially for foodies! But if you can’t quite make it across the pond this summer, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be able to enjoy the delicacies of French cuisine. Celebrate the French way all summer long at these relaxing cafes and restaurants…

Sofitel Chicago Magnificent Mile {20 East Chestnut Street, Chicago; 312.324.4000}: Sofitel wants to make sure Chicago is #LivingTheFrenchWay all summer long, and that starts with their reinvented lobby-level restaurant, CDA. The updates to the restaurant make it the perfect communal meeting place for friends, family, and colleagues, alike. Paired with drinks at Le Bar, the Sofitel is elevating the Windy City dining experience to help us all take a trip to France for the summer, without any travel planning necessary.

Taureaux Tavern {155 West Van Buren Street, Chicago; 312.624.8778}: This new Loop favorite is now giving foodies more opportunities to enjoy French fare. Taureaux Tavern is officially open for Saturday brunch and dinner service with a few exciting additions, including the Gold Label Burger and Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sandwich. Come and enjoy a relaxing meal with Executive Chef Mike Sheerin.

Margeaux Brasserie {11 East Walton Street, Chicago; 312.625.1324}: Macarons for everyone! Margeaux Brasserie, located in the Waldorf Astoria Hotel, has something for everyone, providing late-night bites, happy hour specials, weekend brunch, and more. It is a truly perfect escape from the city grind, and we can not recommend the Margret Duck Breast enough.

Cochon Volant {100 West Monroe Street, Chicago; 312.754.6560}: Even in summertime, work can be very stressful. Luckily, Loop hustlers can take a break from the craziness of the office with a nice meal at Cochon Volant. Start your day with one of the fresh morning pastries, or end it with a rich glass of wine at the stunning bar. This restaurant has you covered from morning until night.

NoMi Kitchen {Park Hyatt Chicago, 800 North Michigan Avenue, Chicago; 312.239.4030}: It might not be a view of the Eiffel Tower, but NoMi Kitchen’s views of the Mag Mile sure are gorgeous! Combine them with delicacies like Smoked Salmon Beignets and Halibut Bouillabaisse, and you have a Francophile’s dream dinner in the city.

Café Cancale {1576 North Milwaukee Avenue, Chicago; 773.904.1121}: Who wouldn’t want to spend a summer day on the French seaside? Café Cancale is a recent addition to the Wicker Park food scene, and a truly welcome one thanks to amazing oyster offerings and Instagram-able interiors. Order a glass of bubbly and toast to summer sunshine!

Café Marie-Jeanne {1001 North California Avenue, Chicago; 773.904.7660}: Do you crave dishes like Duck Frites (maybe with added foie gras) and Chatham Muscles for a relaxing summer dinner? Marie-Jeanne has you covered! Pair that dish with a hand-picked wine from Beverage Director Jamie McLennan, and you’ll be able to truly kick back and just enjoy your evening.
