With St. Patrick’s Day just around the corner and spring poking its warm head out, there are plenty of fun and delicious events coming your way starting today. So if you need dinner plans for tonight, party plans for this weekend, or something cozy to dine on this month, we have you covered on all accounts.

1. New World Wine Dinner at Local Root – March 9

Welcome spring with Local Root {601 North McClurg Court; 312.643.1145} TODAY, March 9 for their New World Wine Dinner starting at 7pm. The menu includes Crispy Seared Duck Breast, Stuffed Squash Blossoms, and even Dark Chocolate Crunch Cake. If you can’t make the event, there are still $5 wine pours on Monday and live music on Thursday! Call for reservations and more information.

2. Stop by the River Dye at Staytion Market & Bar – March 12

For celebrations this coming weekend, located at the epicenter of where the river is dyed green, Staytion Market & Bar {Inside the Rennaissance Chicago Downtown Hotel, 1 West Upper Wacker Drive; 312.372.7200} is the place to be. Stop by the River Dye event on Saturday, March 12 starting at 9am to get your Irish on early before and after the parade and festivities. Enjoy brews and “Chicago-style” Irish breakfast favorites including Dublin Morning Hot Pot, Irish Breakfast Casserole, Guinness Beef Pastries, Reuben Sliders, Bangers and Mash, and more.

3. An Irish Saturday at State and Lake Chicago Tavern – March 12

For more weekend revelry, State and Lake Chicago Tavern {21 North State Street; 312.239.9400} will be opening their doors this Saturday at 7am with live music starting at noon. Drink features include $7 Green Bud Light, $8 Guinness, $7 Irish Whisky Shots, and $25 Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey Flight. If you can’t make it this weekend, State and Lake Chicago Tavern additionally released the latest Beer Brunch menu for the whole month of March. Call for reservations.

4. Monday Supper at Floriole Bakery & Café – March 14

And if you’re still trying to break out of the winter blues, Floriole Bakery & Café {1220 West Webster Avenue; 773.883.1313} will be hosting a special Monday Supper on Monday, March 14 from 7-9:30pm. Co-owners Sandra and Mathieu Holl worked alongside bread baker Alexander Roman to create a five-course seasonally-driven menu full of hearty grains, root vegetables, and comforting flavors. Tickets are $45 per person and include a delicious specialty cocktail. 5. St. Patrick’s Day at Geja’s Café – March 17

Last but certainly not least, Geja’s Café {340 West Armitage Avenue; 773.281.9101} is celebrating St. Patrick’s Day by offering two special dinners. The St. Patty’s Combo ($35 per personfeatures a four-course corned beef and potato fondue dinner, topped off with decadent chocolate fondue. Or there is the Pot of Gold Pairing ($50 per person), featuring all-you-can-eat from The St. Patty’s Day Combo, plus pairings including Magners Cider with cheese fondue, Guinness with the entrée, and Bailiccino, an intoxicating blend of Irish cream liqueur and cappuccino, to accompany the chocolate fondue.
