Public House

This past weekend saw the home opener on the Southside, and today the Northside gets their day in the (theoretical) sun with the Cubs’ first home game at Wrigley. After the first pitch has been thrown, we have a whole week of celebratory eating to do! Here are seven days of Chicago food any fan would be proud of, no matter their team.

Public House Chicago

Cubs Home Opener at Public House TONIGHT

Didn’t get a seat at Wrigley for tonight? No problem! Tonight is also the last night to take advantage of game day specials at Public House {400 North State Street; 312.265.1240}. They’re taking it back to the old days and offering Old Style, Schlitz, and PBR in 16-ounce cans for only $3. Budweiser and Bud Light are also available for $4. If you can’t choose, guests can also order the Old School Bucket and receive the whole roster—one of each brew. When you purchase any of the featured beers, you’ll receive a raffle card for a chance to win tickets to a future Cubs game. Plus, with a new 30-foot video wall and televisions in every corner of the bar along with an ice cold beer and team spirit, Public House is ready to party.

National Grilled Cheese Day at 25 Degrees

April is National Grilled Cheese Month but this Tuesday, the 12th, is the big day! And there’s no better spot to celebrate than 25 Degrees {736 North Clark Street; 312.943.9700} with their ultimate grilled cheese sandwich stuffed with three types of cheese (white cheddar, yellow cheddar, and Jack), plus avocado, caramelized onions, fried egg,  chipotle, and pulled pork marinated with guajillo, tamarind, and ancho chile. It’s the best bite you’ll have this week!

Toni Patisserie

Tuesday Quiches at Toni Patisserie

While the famous patisserie might be better known for it’s wedding cakes and other desserts (which should never be overlooked), Toni Patisserie {65 East Washington Street; 312.726.2020} also offers delicious savory options like their specialty quiches. Quiche Lorraine is available every day, but on Tuesdays they also offer changing specialty flavors like mushroom and Swiss, salmon and dill, and more!

Geja's Cafe

Tax Day Specials at Geja’s Cafe

Though there is a slight extension this year, Tax Day is never a fun thought or process for people. Once you file, celebrate at Geja’s Cafe {340 West Armitage; 773.281.9101} with a Tax Day relief special of $20.16 off a premier dinner through April 28. Premier dinners feature Geja’s House Salad, Cheese Fondue, an Entrée Fondue, Chocolate Dessert Fondue, and coffee, all in a relaxing ambience. The special is offered Sunday-Thursday and is the perfect place to spend any refunds you receive (fingers crossed).

Frontier

Crawfish Broil at The Frontier

Spring has arrived and Frontier {1072 North Milwaukee Avenue; 773.772.4322} is celebrating with one of their famous New Orleans-style crawfish boils. This Sunday, April 17 at 3pm, their all-seasons beer garden will be the place to eat. Tickets are $25 and include all-you-can-eat crawfish, potatoes, and corn, as well as live music by Chicago’s Four Star Brass Band. Additional NOLA-themed specials will be offered as well, including $5 Abita drafts. Tickets must be purchased in advance here.
