If you are now the proud owner of a Chicago DiningOut Passbook, congrats! You have quite the exciting and delicious year of dining ahead of you! All Passbook deals last through the end of Summer 2018, so you have plenty of time to hit your favorite restaurants and discover some favorites. Here are some tips for how to make the most of this ticket to dining bliss in Chicago.
1. Think seasonally.
You have a full year to use your Passbook, and some of the places we have partnered with are best for fall, while others are ideal for spring, and a few are perfect destinations for specific holidays. Here are some seasonal ideas for using your Passbook:
- Fall (upgraded bar food and decadent meats): Belly Up Smokehouse & Saloon, Ronero, MAD Social, and Rockit Bar & Grill
- Winter (cozy comfort food and rich ingredients): Steadfast, The Radler, Artango Bistro, and Bella Notte Ristorante
- Springtime (lighter bites and brighter mornings): Bin 36, Bittersweet Bakery, Stax Café, and Kingsbury Street Café
- Summertime (killer patios and epic rooftops): Dolce Italian, Fremont, West Loop Salumi and Geja’s Café

2. Try a unique experience!
Not all of our Passbook deals are two-for-one entrées, although many of them are. However, we have partnerships with several Chicago restaurants, coffee shops, and more that will provide a truly unique culinary experience Windy City foodies will love. Don’t miss out!
CH Distillery {564 West Randolph Street, Chicago; 312.707.8780} offers buy-one-get-one tours at the Chicago-based distillery. This intimate look behind the scenes would be perfect for out-of-town guests or a special daytime date.
Metric Coffee {2021 West Fulton Street, Chicago; 312.982.2196} is the perfect place to start your morning with buy-one-get-one-free Roast Tours, plus a complimentary 10-ounce bag of their signature coffee. This is another Chicago based, independently owned and operated company that will have you re-thinking your morning cup of Joe.
Frontier {1072 North Milwaukee Avenue, Chicago; 773.772.4322} does offer a two-for-one entrée option that is truly delicious, but if you have a larger group, they also have you covered! As part of their whole-animal catering offerings, with the Passbook, you can get $100 off of a whole pig. This whole pig serves 12-15 so this is an ideal spot for gamedays or guys’ nights out.

4. Start your day off right!
Firecakes {multiple locations} is a Chicago favorite thanks to their unique-flavored glazed donuts. With the Passbook, if you buy six donuts, you’ll get six free—and you’ll be the office hero! If donuts aren’t your morning jam, Yolk {multiple locations} also has locations across the city to help you start your day on the sunny side. Use your Passbook at their South Loop or River North location, to get buy-one-get-one-free entrées.
5. Don’t forget the rules.
Don’t sabotage yourself or your date! Here are a few rules to remember with the Passbook:
- The Passbook cannot be used for takeout.
- Only one Passbook per table. If multiple people in your group have the Passbook, only one of you can get your meals two-for-one.
- The Passbook cannot be combined with other deals. Restaurant Week or happy hour special? Leave the Passbook at home.
- The Passbook can only be used at listed locations. Some restaurants have multiple locations in Chicago, but only accept the deal at one of their locations. Some accept them at all locations—check before you go.
