Cinco de Drinko isn’t actually all about the drinks (we swear)—Hello, amazing food specials!
This weekend is going to be jam-packed with festivities thanks to the Kentucky Derby, a rivalry game for the Cubs, and (of course) Cinco de Mayo! Margarita-lovers and guac-dippers are going to be in heaven on Sunday thanks to these weekend specials at some of Chicago’s hottest spots. Get your taco-pants ready…and feast!
Barrio {65 West Kinzie Street, Chicago; 312.940.9900}: You can celebrate all weekend long at Barrio! Friday, May 3, from 3-6pm, a Don Julio truck will be onsite offering $6 Don Julio shots. If you miss the truck, don’t worry! They will have $10 1800 Tequila Margaritas and 88-ounce margarita towers for $75 from Friday to Sunday. In addition to the margaritas, other weekend specials include $16 guacamole flights, $14 Chicken Al Pastor Nachos, plus lots more!
Bistronomic {840 North Wabash Avenue, Chicago; 312.944.8400}: A French bistro might not be your first thought on Cinco de Mayo…but it should be! They will have a Mexican and French-inspired two-course brunch for only $25 per person for the holiday. You can add bottomless mimosas for an additional $19.95 to pair with your Roasted Corn Veloute and Chorizo Eggs Benedict.
El Hefe {5 West Hubbard Street, Chicago; 312.548.6841}: Every Sunday is a party at El Hefe, so the fact that Cinco de Mayo falls on a Sunday means it will be double trouble! With live DJ sets and drink specials for those in the industry, you know it will be packed with margarita-loving Chicagoans. Don’t miss it!
