There are plenty of celebrations going on tonight and tomorrow for St. Patrick’s Day, but after all the shamrock confetti has settled and the green-tinted glasses have been taken off, then the hangover can set in. But this year we’re taking on the post-St. Patrick’s Day hangover with an epic brunch at Fremont Chicago.

1. While it’s not really a cure per se, the hair of the dog actually does work because it temporarily replaces the effects of a hangover WITH the effects of drinking again (the shampoo effect—a little bit gives you quite a lather once you rub it in).
2. Coffee is a double-edged sword: The plus side: the caffeine will help combat the anxiety of last night and give you a boost of pep. The down side: coffee is a diuretic, which means it causes water to leave your body and water is what you desperately need right now. Make your choice.
3. The juices at the Champagne Bar are your best friend because the sugars bring your glucose levels back up to where they should be. The Bloody Mary bar is also solid because most Bloody Mary mixes have a ton of sodium, which you lost last night after you broke the seal.
4. Make sure you’re drinking water while you eat and booze. At the end of the day, alcohol dehydrates you so your body needs to replenish its water, elctrolyte, glucose, and sodium levels. Water is the building block upon which juice, eggs, and Bloody Mary mixes should rest.
5. Finally: Food—EGGS and omelets! Eggs have an amino acid called cysteine that re-energizes your liver. Alcohol beats the crap out of your liver and the cysteine acts as a power pill, which allows the organ to get back to work ridding your body of the toxins alcohol has left inside of you.
